Through our relentless focus on quality, we’re working to change lives and transform the delivery of healthcare.

Patients are our top priority

We’re determined to be compassionate and responsive to the needs of those in our care. Our goal is to provide superior quality healthcare for patients in our acute care and behavioral health facilities.

Acute Care Quality

With its clinical leadership and expertise and an unwavering commitment to excellence, the UHS Acute Care division is raising the bar in quality patient care and transforming the patient experience, ensuring it remains at the center of the healthcare delivery model.

Behavioural health Quality

Our facilities provide individuals and their families with compassionate, quality care based on proven therapies and treatments that result in successful, long-term recovery recognized among the nation’s best.

Earning accreditation from The Joint Commission is choosing to pursue a commitment to excellence across the spectrum of care.

UHS has a longstanding, independently validated and evidence-based record of providing quality healthcare services to patients and their families. Proudly, in our more than 40-year history, no UHS facility has failed to be accredited or re-accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) or Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), the nation’s highest healthcare standards-setting organizations whose rigorous clinical assessment protocols are widely respected throughout the healthcare industry.

An accreditation or certification of a UHS hospital or program by TJC indicates that the facility not only complies with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care, but also is committed to continually improving patient care.

Make Heart Health a Priority

Heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death in the United States, with one person dying every 37 seconds, and nearly half of all Americans reporting they have at least one of three key risk factors — high blood pressure, high cholesterol and smoking. In the past year, COVID-19 has emerged as a huge complicating factor in the fight against heart disease.
